“Karakuchi is the Japanese word that captures the intricacy of Asahi Super Dry’s unique, refreshing taste. Although there is no direct translation, it describes how our authentic Japanese beer is dry and crisp with a quick, clean finish.”

Tokyo,but it’s not.

The brief for this project was to recreate Tokyo’s iconic skyline without it being Tokyo. Hours were spent researching arial footage of Tokyo, alongside multiple Japanese cities in both day & night to try and recreate the distinct architecture designs. The city had to feel alive and photo-real while maintaining the iconic Asahi colour scheme. I developed a flexible, lightweight CG skyscraper builder system to allow for easy adaptation and versioning of building designs to keep to the tight deadline for the job. Cars and lights were animated inside cinema4D, with nuke being used for compositing atmospheric effects and animations. Products were then created and rendered separately to be used on multiple layouts.

This work was used for the Asahi website, and across multiple social media platforms.
